Descending Mt. Liberty
Mt. Liberty was a fun mid-spring hike. There was still lots of ice on the mountain while the valleys were starting to green up and snow was a distant memory.
pNot surprisingly we came upon a hapless group of hikers from MA who had a member that had dislocated his shoulder on the ice. The injured guy got a pair of our crampons so he could hike out before nightfall and I tromped out on my snowshoes, using their ice cleats for traction.
The irony was seeing their vehicle in the parking lot. It was great to see that they came prepared by driving a hummer to their hike.
