Gringo's Burden

While hiking into the main village on the Isla del Sol, I wound up picking up these two kids and their dog. They wound up being very insistent and annoying touts for their parent's hostel. Hence the dilemma, how to treat two very sweet, poor, and annoying children? In the end, they got nothing. Thankfully my Spanish was decent enough that I could tell them upfront that I would not be paying for their 'guide services' or for photo fees. When they asked why? It was easy, Yo es un malo gringo. How does one argue with a self described 'mean' gringo?
