Kids in Toktogul, Kyrgyzstan 2003
Hanging out in downtown Toktogul. I liked this city in a weird way. It had this feeling that little had changed since the Soviets had left. The Inntourist was still open and it had an exclusive hold on the market (extra story - I almost burned my room down there by accident, thankfully all the gasoline I spilled didn't ignite!), there was still work at the dam, the crappy Soviet stores will still open, patriotic sounding dirges played over loudspeakers, and the place had a strange vibe. It was neat.
